"Celebration" is Finial Here!!!
I finial got my copy of the "Celebration of Hand-Hooked Rugs"XIX. I have have been getting calls,e-mails and cards congratulating me on getting in this years book. And this years book is a beauty.I am going page to page reading each bio and critique and looking at each rug over and over.

This is the 19 year for this book.

I am pages 24 and 25.I feel so honored to be in this group of ladies and men that make up this year's book.
I do have to say that I was disappointed by one thing. In the bio part, where they tell about me they put so wrong info.I had a very good teacher as a baby hooker and her name was Diane Gay.She is the one that got me hooked on rug hooking and I am not sure she knew what kind of wool monster she was creating. In the book they printed that "Cindi Gay" was my first teacher.I don't know how they got that so wrong,Cindi Gay's name was not listed on any of my info.
Now it is up to you out there, pick up the new Celebrations and then send in your ballot.Yes, you get to vote for the rugs you love the most.

This is the 19 year for this book.

I am pages 24 and 25.I feel so honored to be in this group of ladies and men that make up this year's book.

Then in the list of teachers that have be at the Eureka Springs Rug Camp they listed Cindi Gay again. It should have said Charles Gay.Charles is Diane's hubby and a great rug hooker in his own right and he was the first teacher at the Eureka Springs Rug Camp.I am very sorry that Diane and Charles Gay did not get the credit they deserved because if it had not been for them I may never have found rug hooking.
And to Cindi Gay, I hope that someday I do get to take a class from you and maybe we can get you to come to Arkansas to the Eureka Springs Rug Camp.I did call Cindi and talk to her so she would not think some crazy lady out there was just using her name.Thank you Cindi.

Live deeply and go vote for my rug.......hehe

Eureka Springs Rug Hooking Camp First Day Summer 2009
Can you see what time it is? Rows and rows of wool waited for the 12 members of the Summer 2009 Eureka Springs Rug Hooking Camp as they started class today.I am just stopping in real fast to give you a taste of what the day was like.
I will try to get Susan to slow down tomorrow so I can get a better picture of her. Here she is working with one of Mimi to color play her rug.

Hookers hard at work.....
This two got married today just outside the room we are hooking and we all watched and they did not even know we were there till we invited them the come in with us and then we told then they had just entered and hooker convention. It was so funny,I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head.I can't remember their names now but we all wished them good luck and sent them off to a happy life.

Visit to Dana and Steve's.....
This weekend Adam and I went to Dana of Cat in My Lap and her hubby Steve's home for a visit. We had a great time and we felt so welcome there.Dana feed us like Kings and Queens. The only downer of the weekend was that Daisy never showed herself all weekend.
We got there Friday night and dinner was waiting on us and the table looked beautiful. The next morning we awoke to find breakfast being cooked and then eating out side on the patio. Then we were off to a fiber show in Kellyville. After lots of shopping and a overload of wool we stopped and had lunch then we went to the Gilcrase Museum.WOW is all I can say about the museum. If you like Cowboy and Native American art it is a must see!!! Then it was back to their home for more great food.
Here is Dana and I with her oh-so-cute bike in her backyard.
This is her dry creek bed.I really loved this.
I wish you could have seen these in person.WoW
Now you can see Dana and I at our best....shopping for fiber.
This is what you call wool heaven.I came home with 2 pounds of roving and 2 bags of silk and one book.Dana can home with a new toy, but I am going to let her tell you about it.
