Happy Father's Day to my Daddy!

This is my Daddy and Mommy when I was first born.He was tall and thin and very dark, with black hair.As you can see he was very good looking too.He has been a great example in my life and I had a very good childhood. He worked very hard to give his girls every thing we needed and he taught us to love the outdoors.
My Mom has been dead for a long time now and Dad has done everything he could to fill her spot too.Thank you Daddy for all you do for us girls.

I love you Daddy.

Sisters for Sale!

I don't think I would get any takers on this day.Not her best day. This is my sister Karri. She is 2 years younger then me but in this pic she looks much older. When we where teens people always thought she was the older sister, and she love it then. But, now she does not like it at all. This pic was taken just before her surgery.
By-the-way, everything went good with her surgery and she is now home.
This good looking man is my daddy, Joe.Bless his heart, he raised 3 girls and lived to tell about it.I have been at him for a long time to move to Arkansas with me.I would love to have him close to me,I miss him very much.

This beauty is my baby sister,Traci. She has darker red hair than I do and it was very curly when she was little. She is 13 years younger than me.We have art in common. We both love making things.
Our Mom died in 1992 so it has just been Dad and his girls.I am the oldest and yes I do try to mother the others some.Notice the I's...Vicki,Karri,Traci.
Live Deeply!

Birthdays and Brown Bag Dolls

What you are looking at here is part of a project my doll club is doing. We call it the Brown Bag Doll.We start with a brown bag and add 15 items,5 must be fabric. Then each month each person takes a different bag and add to the doll. This year has been harder then the others because we don't have as many participating this time so we have worked on the same doll more than once.

The person that started this doll wanted this ball to be part on it.So it is up to me now to make the ball look like it belongs to this doll and not just dropped in his lap.

Here as a close up of the head that I needle felted for him last month.I think he needs a hat so that is my project for today. In two weeks we have our lunch party. That is when we get to see what our doll turned out like.It is great fun.

Full view.He has great boots on. The ball is black and white, but I think it needs to be gold like all the details on his clothes.

Yesterday was my 47th birthday. I had to work but Adam took me out to dinner later to a great restaurant and then book shopping. I love books. This pic is of me and my Mommy and Daddy when I was very new,I don't know how old I was tho.Note: the cigarette in mom's hand(bad Mommy).Dad was 22 here and Mom was 18 and they had been married 2 years.Yes, my Mom was 16 when they married and she would not let me even start dating till I was 16.
