What I Have Been Working on this Week....

This week I have been working on a few things.I made two candle mats from heart shaped yo-yos.

They took a little time but I really like how they look.

This one was the first one I made and it is going to be a gift for a swap I am doing.
I hope you can see the heart shape.
Now for the big project.I have been working on this for a long time.It is the space under my bar.I have used and kinds of things to tile the wall. Now the grout is all done.
Adam was not sure about this little project, but I think he can live with it now that it is all grouted.
The rug is coming right along too.I hope to have it done tonight or tomorrow.
I think I really like snow days.I am getting so much done.

Live Deeply and enjoy the snow..

Such beautiful work! I love the mosaics! And the rug and the Candle mat.

From the weather that I've heard on the tv this evening I think we better get ready for another snow. I heard that here where I live we could get up to ten inches. I think over your way it's only around five inches. LOL Get ready!

Love your projects, the heart shapes is a clever idea for a swap present. I also like what you did with your bar, really nice way to display art and treasures.

Golly, you've been productive, the bar is amazing. We have a similar patchwork piece pattern in the UK, not heartshaped, but it is round and called a Suffolk Puff (I think).
I will try and do a little post about photography as you asked, as I don't have any fancy equipment, I just use a lot of white card and backdrops in certain ways. One thing you could try at once, is to try to take photos in completely natural light (when possible) in North light, so that it's not direct (and won't cast shadows). Also, however you are shooting, try getting a sheet of white card (or something white which you can hold up or prop up) to bounce light off; look to where your light source is and hold the card up (I do a lot of one handed photography!) out of shot on the other side, so that it reflects some of the light back onto the work. It works best if you are working in full natural light (not direct sunlight) but it should always give a bit of a lift from the darkened side, if you haven't got proper studio lighting (which I don't).

Hello Vicki!

I wanted to come by and thank you for visiting my blog and for entering in my give-away. I really love your mosaic wall, that is just amazing!!! It must feel so good to have it completed. I'll bet it's truly stunning in person.

Thank you again for dropping in, and good luck to you in the drawing!

Best,
Dana
