No Longer a Want-to-be Weaver......

I have always wanted to learn to weave, but never had the chance. But now that I am spending time in Springfield, I am very close to the Springfield Art Association so I am taking advantage of some of the classes they have.
This was a 7 week rag weaving class I took with teacher Shelley Wilcoxson.
I did 4 place mats,1 table runner and 6 mug rugs.
This is what it takes to warp a table loom, it is called a warping broad. It looks very cool but it is a pain in the butt.

Shelley (left) worked with each of us as we warped the looms.
This is the loom I worked on.I have a big floor loom at home  that I really want to learn to use. After this class I think I am ready to give it a try.

I have Eureka Springs Rug Hooking Camp starting next week so I am off to Arkansas this weekend.Check back for pictures from camp.

Live Deeply,
Vicki

I would love to have real loom, but I did find a small wooden one at a thrift, so someday I need to try it out.
