NWA Hook-in 2011

BORDER WORKSHOP with Judy Cripps
Do you ever wonder how to do the border of your rug? This workshop will give you lots of ideas. We will discuss:
1. How to draw a straight border
2. Size and shape of borders
3. Border Design
4. Border Color
Everyone will start with either the Eureka House or Happy 4th rug pattern. They are 17 X 18 and drawn on linen. The 2 inch border on each will be blank. I will have lots of examples to show you. After the talk I will meet with each of you and together we will design a wonderful border for your rug. Hopefully each rug will be a little different.
The cost for the pattern is $22.00. WOOL IS NOT INCLUDED so bring your own. As soon as I have a class list I will contact you and send you a color photo of your rug to help you color plan. I will also have wool available to purchase but try to use your own. These are small projects and great for using up your scraps!

We still have a few spots open in this workshop at the Hook-in June 10, 2011. If you would like to be part of it please let me know fast.

I have always wanted to do a braided border, might try a runner with one for my bench. My earlier rugs have larger edges with wool yarn and I am finding they wear too fast, so now i keep my edges small.

Wow! I can't believe how much you were able to include in a small 2" border - it sure adds a lot to the finished rug - I love it!
