Need to be "Framed"?

My daughter Amber finally got her new camera and is ready to go to work.Do you need pictures of yourself, your kids, family,a senior or a wedding? Go to her new website and look at her work. She is still working on the site so keep coming back because she will be adding more pics. Amber loves to do on site and outside pictures.
She is also doing Modern and Artistic Portraiture's. I think she has such a artistic eye.If you want beautiful pictures or something out there, she is the one for you.

I know this sounds prejudice but she is so good with people. I have seen her take beautiful pictures of people that were not photogenic.

This pics are of my favorite little people, my grand babies.

Go take a look at Amber's web site "Framed by Amber"

Bluegrass Weekends...

The last two weekends we have been at bluegrass shows. Not that Adam watches the show, but I do. I find a place with good light and I sit up my chair and hook.Ryan, our grandson has went with us so I don't get as much hooking done.

Here you see Adam jamming. That what they do ,everyone stands in a circle and picks.
This is Ryan picking and singing for some ladies that came by.One sweet lady gave him $3.00 all in dimes and from that time on he wanted to stop everyone and sing to them. This was last weekend.

This weekend at the Eureka Springs Bluegrass Show Ryan was ready to pick some more. Here he is walking into the place everyone was to be jamming.

Here Ryan is getting a few pointers from Papaw.

Now they are really jamming.
Live Deeply and go jamming.

The Big Four ......

Sunday we had a birthday party at our house for 4 year old grandson Ryan.He loves trains so that was our theme.

The table looked very cute.I used his trains and track down the middle of the table.

I made the placemats out of poster board.

Ryan and I mad candy trains for everyone. He had so much doing that.

And of course everyone had to dress the part. Here is Ryan and his Mommy and Daddy.

Hot Dogs is Ryan's favorite food right now so that is what we had.

Here he is about to blow out the candies.

Here he is in one of the train cars I made so he could go for a train ride.

Here you can see most of the train. He loved riding around the yard.I think fun was had by all.

Why I have not posted much?

I know I have not posted much this past month and I would like to say I am sorry.Below are two of the biggest reasons I have not been posting.First Adam has had so much going on with the band he has been in.Lots of nights we go right from work to band practice and then it is late when we get home.We both work 5 days a week and then some weekend he is playing both days.I try to be supportive and go with him when he plays but with working so much I am having a hard time getting all the household things done.I don't know how all you working Moms are getting things done.Help? Do you have hints for me.

The next thing stopping me from posting much is this cute little thing sitting in his Papaw's lap.Our grandson has been staying with us most weekends when his Mommy and daddy both have to work.I love having him here but I do know now why we have our kids when we are young. At 3 1/2 all he wants me to do is play with him.So I do.So much for the housework!

The Hook-in that I have been working on is this weekend and I can't wait.We have 140 people signed up for it right now.I know it is going to be GREAT.Be there or be square.get ready for lots of pictures from the Hook-in.

Live Deeply and go clean something.

Hope you had a Happy Easter....

I hope you all had a very happy Easter and I hope yours was drier then ours.We had 3-4 ins of rain on Sunday and it was a nasty mess.I wanted to show you a few pictures of grandson Ryan's Easter.
Here he is at church after a egg hunt inside one of the class rooms. He looked so cute in his hat.

Here he has his mom's apron on as we dyed eggs.

This is some of his egg art.He had the help of his Mom,Nana and his Great grandma.

Last Thursday I was back a Knit Wicks on Rogers for another spinning lesson. This time I wanted to learn to ply two pieces together to make a yarn.
My plan is to dye this to a dark red to use in a rug I am planning.
I had many people ask about my fall so I thought I would tell you what happened.About two weeks ago we had a very hard rain storm and I had left a window open in the basement soooooo I when running down the front stairs (that are outside) and not one but both of my feet went right out from under me and I landed right on my butt. Now for those of you that have seen me ,you know that is my most padded part. But some how I think I broke my tail bone and I am having a lot of trouble sitting.I am feeling a little better tonight so I wanted to post for you.

First Day Class Two with Victoria....

Day one of the 2nd class with Victoria Hart Ingalls was a beautiful day.We had a great day and boy did we laugh.Victoria can be so funny and today her and I managed to drop lemon cake all over the shoes on the other Vicki in class Here Victoria is helping Nelda with a rug that she started in 2000( her very first rug).

Laura (in pink) is one of my favorite hookers. Here she is looking at Minnie's rose that she is working on.
Vicki Jo is a very new hooker and it is great to see her enthusiasm.See is the one Victoria and I dropped cake on. Dianne's snowman is so cute. This is one of Victoria's new patterns.
Jo Ann came a long way on her sheep today. She is a new hooker too.

This crazy lady is a hoot to have in class and she is doing great on her rug.
Sue has started the biggest rug of the group. It will be beautiful when done.

Ryan and Papaw entertain the ladies tonight.

Day of hooking with grandson...

My grandson Ryan is staying the weekend with us and he and I got some hooking done today. When he was little he would sit in my lap (in my frame) and use my hook to poke the backing and he would tell everyone he was hooking. He would make a hole with the hook and then rub the hole till was gone. He is getting so big now that he can't sit on my lap and me hold the frame too.So now he has to sit beside me to hook. Now he likes to play with the strips too.As you see here he may be a lefty.I believe in letting children try their hands at art.If it is paint, markers, yarn, wool or any other medium let them use their hands.
When my studio is done he and any other grandkids I have will a place just for them to make art.

He loves hooking almost as much as he loves having his picture taken. Some of you may have noticed that I have changed this rug some. The middle lady has a different hat on now.I just could not get the other one to work out like I wanted.

Here are two pictures of me hooking taken by Ryan.He love taking pictures too.For those that don't know Ryan is 3 years old.Later today we went to clean trees out of the driveway of the place Adam and I work.Ryan had a great time throwing sticks and helping Nana pushing trees around.

Live Deeply and kiss your kids or grandkids.

A Few of My Favorite Things in 2008

2008 was year that started out with beauty and disruption. With spring, came rain, rain and more rain.Views like this were beautiful to see,but a few hours later it turned into the disruption of many lives. When the flood gates if beaver dam had to be open 9 feet and flooded everything down river.

We had waterfalls everywhere. Here you see Adam setting by one the just showed up over night.
The lake filled to the highest it had ever been.Picture here is Adam and a needle felted doll I started in a round robin.I have now worked on 3 of the dolls and have 4 more to go this next year.

I love this pic of Frank and his bagpipe.Frank is the hubby of one of the ladies I have meet through rug hooking.I now host two rug hooking camps a year and this is from the spring camp.

The light of my life is my grandson Ryan. Here him and Nana are playing at the park.Happy day!

Living on a like, you would think we would on a boat. But no,so a outing on a friends boat at sunset was beautiful.

A beading class through ESSA with Elanor Lux was a highlight in this year.

I spent alot of time in the great outdoors this year taking pictures. If you look very close you can see many things God put on the earth.
Adam and Ryan doing Papaw's favorite thing.

This is the summer rug hooking camp with Nola Heidbreder.

I hope 2009 will be a blessing to everyone.
