Day two was a beautiful day...

Today was a beautiful day in the Ozarks. The whole class went outside to have Tom take our picture. There are 11 of us in the class and they have been such a fun group.

Here is Anita and baby Layla having lunch. She loved the soup Adam made for us.

I thought this was so pretty. There is some about fine hooking,it is like painting with wool. This is the piece I have been working on.Her eyes are green. Here is Linda's bag. They had to put her hubby in the hospital last night so please pray for him.

Charleen's squirrel is so cute.
Aileen got a lot done today on her baby Jesus.

I wish you were here to she Libby's bird because it looks so real. Can't wait to see her red tail.(the bird is a girl)
This is Nita's 2nd fish and all I can say is "OhMyGoodness."

Anita finally had time to sit and hook.A new baby is making life busy for this mommy.

Live Deeply and go play outside.

First Day of Class with Victoria.....

We had a great first day with Victoria today. She was feeling better and her voice was a little stronger but not back to normal.

Victoria Hart Ingalls is from Independence, Mo. Victoria has been hooking for thirty years and teaching for nearly twenty, both at home and at rug schools across the country. Victoria has written for Rug Hooking Magazine and has had work included in Celebrations.Though she is known for her focus on fine shading and portraiture, her style ranges from traditional, to wide-cut hooking with a folk art appeal.I love the little kids faces she does. She has a degree in Fine Art and was a student of well-known teacher and author Margaret Hunt Masters. Her husband, Tom, will be joining her with his beautiful hand-made hooks

This is the pattern I am working on.now anyone that knows me,knows that I hook big cuts. Most of the rugs I have hooked are a #8 cut or bigger. This rug will be hooked in a #3 cut so this is a whole new ball game for me.When I learn how to something I want to know everything there is to know about it.So....I am jumping in with bout feet.I will keep you posted.

This is Libby and her bird. She sent pictures of her bird to Victoria to her a pattern.

Aileen is working on this sweet little piece.
Here you see Victoria helping one of the girls and Nita is looking on.

Diane in working on this two beauts.

Nita is working on a rug with three fish and this is the first one she did.Nita has done more fine hooking than anyone in this class and it shows;)
I just had to show you this last picture of the hubbies.Tom on the right(Victoria's hubby),Adam(my hubby) in the middle with the banjo and Jimmy to the left( Charleen's hubby).
Live Deeply and go hug a banjo picker.

Victoria Hart Ingalls class ready to start.

Victoria and Tom arrived safe and sound today to start the first of two '3 day' classes at the Eureka Springs Rug Hooking Camp. She is the sweetest lady you could ever hope to meet and I can't wait to start working with her on my rug.
You ladies that talked to Victoria at Lenexa worked her to hard, because she has not had her voice sense then. She came in talking like a mouse. We will have to go easy on her so she can get her voice back.
I thought I would show you what the room looks like before a bunch of hookers move in.

Is you can see it is a nice sunny room and it looks like we are going to have great weather( I hope)
This picture of Tom and Victoria was taken at the 2008 NWA Hook-in .I hope to keep you posted as the days go by of what everyone is working on.

Live Deeply and pray for Victoria's voice.

More from Lenexa....

Here are some more pictures from Lenexa's hook-in.The crowd was a little smaller then last year because of the 5-6 ins.of snow that started falling early Saturday and almost all day.I have never been to this hook-in that something was not falling from the sky,but that has not stopped me from going yet.
You can see here that a lot of talking was going on.I told Jody as we were leaving that I had flapped my lips so much talking, that they were chapped.

One of the ladies I meet there was Ginger of "primitives by the light of the moon". I wish I would have thought to get her picture. She was very sweet and I hope to meet her again.Ginger, if you read this I hope you will come to the Eureka Springs Hook-in.
Here you can some of the vender's booths and the people shopping.I think there was a lot more men there this year.
One of the groups had this great vest with their group name on them.
I have never seen JoJo that she is not smiling like this. Some of you may know her from "Wool Snippets".
Here you she Jody talking to Katie from Townsend cutters and as you can see Katie was busy writing orders.
The next tree pictures are all one rug.I wish I would have asked how big it was,my guess would be 5 foot by 7 foot.

Live Deeply and give someone a kiss today.
