Playing in the Dye Pot...

I spent yesterday playing with turning this white roving into pretty colors roving. I bought 10 lbs of roving a few months back.
Can you say "PINK"? I am using Cushing Dyes for the color. Funny how the color looks so different  in the pot.
When you live in a apartment you have to make do with what you have. Two little wood latters in the shower as a drying rack.
I am going to have lots of new colors for needle felting.

I did a little felting this weekend and this three little guys came out of that.I found the eyeballs at a thrift show and I just had to play with them.I did a few more little monsters but not done with them yet.
Sorry about the crop on the picture, some thing is going on with the program that I do that with.I am working on the this rug for a sweet young lady that I have got to know through War Eagle Craft Fair. Her and her mom make the cutest dolls of witch I have many now.I know she is so busy with her wedding that she will not see this.I am hoping to go down for the wedding. They are using dragonflies as the theme for the wedding.

War Eagle Craft Fair Canceled ! But all Indoor Shows Still Going...

Because of all the rain the Ozarks have been getting this spring War Eagle Craft Fair has been canceled. So what to do? I was thinking I would just work around the house this weekend. Then my friend Jody call and ask what other show I was going to do?What!!!I can't get into a show at this late date! But she got me thinking, so I got on my trusty computer and got to work. The people at the "Ozark Regional Arts and Crafts Show" had heard the news and made arrangements for more space. So I will now be at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center. So come look me up there. I girls from the "Sawdust Cabin" will be setup next to me, just like War Eagle.
I have been hard at work felting lots of fun things. This is some of the wool I use.I guess you could say this is my paint pallet.
This is my work space right now.It looks like a crazy person has been in here.
Here a sneak pick at a new idem I will have at the show.Cute,cute,cute.
Cats are running wild,a must  for spring. I will also demo needle felting at the show,so stop by and I will show you  how it works.

Rock Creek Hook-In in Lenexa Ks.

One week ago I found out I could be a vendor and the Rock Creek Hook-in so I have been working like crazy to get pins done.
I am working my little fingers to the bone. Most of the pins are needle felted.I wish I'd had a little more time to get things made but I will just do my best.
Little sheep, cats, bunnies and birds are piling up on my table.
Oh, I forgot about the monkeys.I love how they have turned out.I hope all you rug hookers are going to be at the big hook-in in Kansas. If you are there come by and say hi to me.
Just so you know, Adam has been on his knees some more and the tile is almost done.I am so happy to have this job done.

Spring War Eagle Craft Fair is Almose Here!

Just so you know why you have not heard much from me in the last week or two.I have been getting ready for the Spring War Eagle Craft Fair.It starts tomorrow May 1 and go till Sunday May 3.
This is what things looked like as I got started. If you remember I lost my big tent to the ice storm we had in Feb. so I had to get a new one and I waited to late. I had to make-do with one that is not near as good as my last one and it did not have sides with it so I am having to use my old sides. They don't look very good so I will have to hide them so how.
Here are a two of the needle felted pins I made.

Crazy man,crazy.

Here are some hooked sunflowers that I will have there.

Here you see two of the driftwood men I have made.I will try to show you pics of the show everyday.
Live Deeply and come see me at the Fair.

What I have been doing with myself...

As I sat for 8 days with no power I worked on this rug.In the day I sat in a sun lit window and at night it was a camp light that helped light my hooking. The ladies are needle felted with the hats and background all hooked. I still have alot of work on them.Like this one's eyes are a little off and none of them have eyebrows.
I am going to put something on each hat too.And maybe eyelashs.

I have to get this rug done because the next one is bouncing around in my head and wants out very badly. There is just not enough time to get all the things I want to make done.If anyone out there has all the money they need and would like to help a starving artist/hooker spend her time make wool into art,you can look me up.Well, after one look at my butt I must not be starving.Oh well, you can't blame a girl for trying.
Ok now...Live Deeply and enjoy your lights.

Rug coming right along...

This weekend I used the rug I am donating to ESSA for the Mad Hatter Ball as my demo piece. This is the third year I have been asked to make something for the Ball. The colors are much brighter in the pictures then what the rug really is.I have needle felted a bat and it will have leather wings. The back ground is hooked.
I looked for pics of the first piece I made for them but I can't found them.I forgot to get a picture last year and I sure would like one.

Round Robin Doll is Done

I just got done with the round robin doll . Just in time to put her in the mail tomorrow. Her name is Pane Jane and she is a alien visiting earth. She stayed with me for a mouth and collected animals. We built her some cages to put them in for her travels.
The other thing she wanted to remember was our alphabet.so I sewed them to her belly so she would always have them with her.

I work a cave, so the first thing she wanted was a bat.I needle felted each of this little cuties , and are about 1 1/2 in. tall.

This is a frog from the lake I live on.I know! the frog is a little funny looking.

The ladybug was the color red.Where she comes from there is no red. But, I would be a hit with my red hair.I am glad she found the bug or I might be in one of the cages too.

The snake was my favorite.I used seed beads for his rattle and leather for his tongue
